Kuching...Kuching...Kuching Part 2

Day Two!! - 8.7.2005

It is safe to conclude that going to museums is not stereotypical of all tourists. Meaning there are other points of interest other than exhibits. Sound weird? Well, think about it. The entire West Malaysian entourage went to our state museum this morning. After a round of looking at the slightly interesting exhibits, a game of HIDE AND SEEK was played! Yes!! In the bloody museum. No pics though, wasn't allowed. These fellows only played one round because all possible hiding spots were exposed in the first round. John was the catcher and Yinn Khurn won, being the only person unable to be found. Anyway, after some Coffee Bean (hate it, yucks!) John's mum brought us to Jong's Crocodile Farm! Haven't been there in ages, and it had moved to a location nearer towards the city centre. They've got hundreds of crocodiles there. *shudder* Dangerous! Ahaha, but Yu Mwee keeps one in her backyard anyway... must be pretty safe.


We were spot on to be there during feeding time! Haha, the highlight of the tour for visitors. These vicious crocodiles fight tooth and nail for all the meat thrown into the area. Well, honestly, they didn't really fight for it. A few seemed a bit lazy. This picture shows a crocodile pushing itself really high into the air to grab that dangling piece of meat.


This picture is a bit sad. I really pitied the croc on the top. Why? Just look at it. There's no missing it's deformed jaw. Crocs like these have to be kept seperately until they can fight for their own lunch.


Check it out. Keat Seong's entertaining the rest of us. Yinn Khurn and Szu Lyn did their funny poses between those jaws as well, and I was planning to put them in like what I did with the stones the other day, but blogger is giving me so many problems with putting pictures up. So this will have to do for now.

After all that we all went back to Yun's house to 'regroup'. We were all sweating like crazy because of the humidity in the jungle-like environment of Jong's Crocodile Farm. Tze Yong, John and I took a shower at John's place before meeting up with them. Turned out that these lazy buggers opted not to shower but sleep(!!!) as they had stayed up late the previous night playing 'mafia'! As soon as they were all
ready to go, we went to this restaurant Perry wanted to go. And then on to a photoshoot of Kuching's cats ouside McDonalds! But lighting sucks at 9.30pm at night, so the photos didn't turn out well. No point putting those up.

Day 3 & 4 - 9th and 10th July

Rainforest World Music Festival. Not much too say. Or maybe, too much to say. So I think I'll just stick up pics and let them speak for themselves. Though few they may be.

This is Buntal. Seafood haven in Kuching, supposedly. We came here for dinner for both days. And everyone loved jungle fern (milin) that we ordered two plates on the first night. Furthermore, this dish made many consequent appearances during meal times in Kuching. Anyway, we sacrificed Yun back at the Cultural Village to book us a good spot for the rest of the night. Hehe =) Not that it was much of a sacrfice...(you'll see.) Since she didn't come for dinner, and being a notoriously picky eater, the whole group decided to indulge ourselves in interesting and spicy dishes, which she absolutely will not touch at all.

Whooopps!!!!!!!! The secret has been revealed. That is the reason Yun's stay back at the Cultural Village wasn't much of a sacrifice. Won't say much, other than the guy's name is Caleb. The rest, my dear friends... is UP to your imagination!
